Context
A free, multilingual encyclopaedia of astrology — signs, planets, houses, aspects — reaching into non-Latin scripts.
The challenge
Producing clean, readable URLs in languages such as Japanese, Korean or Russian, and guaranteeing that no page is missing a translation when the site has hundreds per language.
What I did
Per-language slug tables (controlled transliteration), next-intl routing with translated URLs, i18n verification scripts run before every build, per-language sitemaps and IndexNow on deploy.
Technical highlights
- 12 languages, 5 of them in non-Latin scripts, with transliterated slugs
- Automated i18n check at build time: no missing key reaches production
- 100% static pages, generated hreflang and canonicals
- Contact form protected without cookies or heavy third-party scripts
