About
Web engineer, architect and developer. I design the structure of a website and write its code, end to end — because you only draw well what you know how to build.

Eztebe is Stéphane in Basque — the name my grandmother, my amatxi, used. I took it back for my freelance work; my full name, Stéphane Gamot, appears on quotes, invoices and the legal notice.
I grew up in Halsou, a small village between Ustaritz and Cambo-les-Bains where my father was mayor for more than twenty years, twenty minutes from Bayonne, where I did part of my secondary schooling. Then thirty-five years away from the Basque Country: Belgium, England, Djibouti, Spain, Germany, and elsewhere in France.
It was in Belgium that I started in web development, almost twenty years ago, designing and building websites for freelancers and small businesses. Three qualifications mark that path — in computing, then in web development — up to a master's-equivalent qualification recognised by the French state, Expert en développement logiciel (software development expert), which corresponds to the role of software engineer.
In 2026 I came back to the Basque Country, on the Spanish side this time: I live and work in Hondarribia, next to San Sebastián, a few minutes from Hendaye and the French border. My clients are in France, Spain and Belgium; I work remotely for all of Europe, including Luxembourg, Switzerland and the UK.
Right proportions, space, rhythm. No excess: just what it takes to be pleasant to look at — and to read.
Simple journeys, gentle transitions, short load times. You should never feel the interface fighting against you.
Clean, typed, tested, documented code. A site you can pick up in two years without rebuilding everything — with me or with someone else.
SEO is not a layer you add at the end: it is decided in the architecture, the URLs, the structured data, the speed.
When I'm not coding: trail running and cycling along the coast, Shotokan karate, yoga, photography in San Sebastián, good food — and a white Swiss shepherd who insists on breaks. A simple, full life, which probably explains the calm I try to put into my interfaces.
Tell me about your project, even in two sentences.
