Web design and development in the Basque Country, from Biarritz to San Sebastián

I'm a web engineer based in Hondarribia, a few minutes from the French border. I design and build websites for businesses, freelancers and organisations across the Basque Country, on both sides of the border: fast, elegant, found on Google, and understood by your customers in English, French or Spanish.

Why a web engineer from here

Local, and reachable

I live in Hondarribia and travel anywhere from Bayonne to San Sebastián for a first meeting. After that we work by video call, and you follow progress on a preview address.

Two countries, three languages

Your customers cross the border, and so does your site: English, French and Spanish, with translated URLs and hreflang tags done properly. You deal with one person, in your language.

An engineer, not an agency

The person who listens to you is the one who designs the structure and writes the code. A fixed-price quote, a single point of contact, and source code that belongs to you.

Fast, and found on Google

Next.js, Vercel hosting, verified Core Web Vitals, Schema.org structured data: the technical base you need to outrank agency sites on local searches.

What I do for businesses in the Basque Country

The same six services I offer across Europe, plus local knowledge: a bilingual clientele, strong tourist seasons, and competitors who often haven't touched their website in years.

Being found in Biarritz, Bayonne or San Sebastián

Local SEO isn't about repeating keywords. It comes down to a few fundamentals I put in place on every site:

  • One page per service, and one per town when it's justified, with real, non-duplicated content
  • LocalBusiness, Service and FAQ structured data, consistent with your Google Business Profile
  • A site that loads instantly on a phone, where local searches happen
  • Place names in the language of each page: Bayonne, Baiona, Bayona

Frequently asked questions

Do you travel to meet clients?

Yes, for a first meeting, anywhere from Bayonne to San Sebastián. After that, video calls are enough: you follow progress on a preview address and we talk by email or phone.

My business is in France and you're in Spain. Is that a problem?

No. I'm a registered sole trader in Spain, and my invoice is a European invoice like any other: your accountant treats it like one from any EU supplier. The quote, the contract and our conversations are in English, French or Spanish, as you prefer.

How much does a website cost?

A single page from €1,500 excl. VAT, a five-to-eight-page business website between €3,000 and €5,500 excl. VAT, fixed price. My full price list is on the blog, with what moves the price up or down.

How long does it take?

A few weeks for a business website; longer for a shop or an application. The quote sets the schedule; in practice, what delays it is waiting for texts and photos.

Do you work with WordPress?

I no longer build WordPress sites: I work with Next.js, which is faster, more secure and has no plugins to maintain. I do take over existing WordPress sites to redesign or migrate them while keeping their rankings.

Can my site be in Basque?

Yes. I don't speak Basque myself: the translation goes to a translator, and I integrate it with the same care as the other languages (URLs, hreflang, typography). I designed a magazine in five languages, Basque included.
